Looking for some good concerts in San Diego this summer? Below are several artists you might be interested in, including some pretty powerful songstresses.
May 8 Ricky Martin at Valley View Casino Center
If you don’t have plans for Mother’s Day just yet, you might want to take Mom to get a dose of Ricky Martin’s sizzling Latin lyrics.
May 10 Lauryn Hill at Humphreys Concerts by the Bay
Wow, what I wouldn’t give to see this concert! Lauryn Hill is one of my favorite singers, with or without the Fugees, and she has one of those voices that was made to be heard. I miss hearing new stuff from her but I know hearing her sing anything would be really enjoyable.
May 11 KT Tunstall at the House of Blues
Hear her sing “Black Horse and a Cherry Tree” in person.
May 13 Yanni at Humphreys Concerts by the Bay
If you want a night of some soothing, soft music, head on over to Humphrey’s to hear Yanni perform.
May 21 System of a Down at Cricket Wireless Amphitheater
My sister would love to go to this, as she’s a big fan. I remember playing them quite a bit during the election year of 2004, too, particularly “BYOB.”
May 25 Barenaked Ladies at Humphreys Concerts by the Bay
All I want to do is hear them play “1 Million Dollars” live. If you haven’t heard it live, it’s pretty darn funny. Remember back when “One Week” came out and we all sat around the radio, rapidly scribbling down the lyrics so we would know them by heart? Oh, was that only me…
May 29 Glee Tour at Valley View Casino Center
It’s Glee! Live! ‘Nuff said.
June 5 Tim McGraw at Cricket Wireless Amphitheater
Tim McGraw is one of the few country singers I can listen to. Though I don’t know any of his newer stuff, if applicable, I do love his older stuff, like “I Like It, I Love It,” “Everywhere,” and “Where the Green Grass Grows.”
June 6 Robert Plant at Copley Symphony Hall
As disheartening as it is that none of us will ever hear Led Zeppelin in concert (save for those of you who were alive “way back when!”), we can still hear Robert Plant’s amazing voice in concert.
June 10 Good Charlotte at the House of Blues
I must admit that I haven’t heard anything by Good Charlotte since their debut, “Lifestyles of the Rich and the Famous,” but I know they still have a pretty good sized fan base. There is still time to nab up some tickets for those who are interested.
June 18 Rush at Cricket Wireless Amphitheater
If you don’t want to go to this one, your dad probably will—just in time for Father’s Day! Buy some tickets for you both and you will give Dad both the gift of your time as well as what’s sure to be a great concert.
June 19 Panic! At the Disco at the House of Blues
If you feel like writing sins and not tragedies, head on over to the House of Blues on June 19 to see this concert.
